The best analogy I have heard is from Dr. Doris Rapp M.D., author of "Is this your child?" and "A Toxic world"  She describes our bodies as a barrel and when the barrel is full from allergies and sensitivities it overflows causing our bodies to react and show symptoms of what genetically we are prone to.  If we can keep the barrel of sensitivities low, our bodies are able to cope and deal with the sensitivities when they come into our environment.

1.  Start a food elimination program.  (food allergy testing does not reveal food sensitivities, a food elimination program is the best way to detect possible trigger's)
Here is a helpful link to Doris Rapp's food elimination program

2.  change out all your everyday food staples to chemical free. (salt, eggs, milk, breads, oils, etc.
)

3.  Test for environmental sensitivities

4.   Get yourself a quality air purifier.

5.   Get a reverse osmosis system for your drinking water or buy quality filtered water.

6.   Put allergen covers on your mattresses and pillowcases

7.   Dust and vacuum regularly

8.   Make sure your home is filled with love, positive
 attitudes and support

9.  Check out the "trigger's" page this has even more ideas of what
 could possibly be causing your child to react to things physically and emotionally.

10.  Your child may also need vit/minerals/amino acids if not getting adequate
nutrition.  I would find a Naturopathic Dr. or Medical Dr. friendly to alternative treatments and knowledgable in neuro disorders.
